Bronwen Aker

Bronwen Aker is a cybersecurity professional, technical editor, AI security strategist, and longtime technology educator. Her career began in web design, development, technical training, and public speaking before she transitioned into cybersecurity in 2017. She holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in cybersecurity and has earned GIAC certifications in security essentials, incident handling, and forensic examination.
Bronwen currently works with Black Hills Information Security, where her roles have included technical editing, continuous penetration testing support, AI research, course quality improvement, and public cybersecurity education. She is especially interested in making complex technical topics more approachable, including practical uses of AI and local large language models for security professionals.
